Soft stool isn't uncommon in teething puppies. I'd worry only if it turned into actual diarrhea...that can cause dehydration pretty quickly.
Amber is almost 5 months old now and we have seen a couple of her adult teeth coming in. The last few days her stools have not been as firm and segmented as they originally were and I was wondering if this could be because she is teething. She has her normal healthy appetite and is just as active as ever. I called our vet and they said if she got worse to bring in a sample but they thought it was probably because she is cutting teeth. Anyone else had this happen? The poo usually comes out nice to begin with but before she finishes it more a a pudding consistency. We have had her on Purina Pro plan for large breed puppies since she came home.

Yes, we saw this in Stormy. Her breath also got very foul for a little bit. Now that she has all her adult teeth, everything settled down.

Yeah...sweet baby puppy breath does a real nosedive right around that time.
Thanks for the comments. Haven't noticed the breath being bad yet but I'm sure that's to come!
Bella is losing teeth as well....definitely a little bit softer poops here. Whew - I’m glad to hear that the breath thing is normal too, I’ve been checking her mouth all the time because her breath doesn’t smell the same
Yeah, Stormy’s was strong enough that when we crated her and she barked for half an hour, the room she was in stank!

Teething definitely causes poop issues. You can also give the pup a tablespoon of canned pumpkin. But it tends to right itself soon enough.
