Sadly, I do have experience with vestibular disease. Our last lab, Chippers had a severe attack at age 14 1/2. He acted like he'd had a stroke, he lost his bowls and bladder, and his head turned like he was looking upside down. We rushed him to the vet, who put him on strong meds through IV. After 3 days, he was no better (most dogs start recovering, at least somewhat, by then), so we made the sad decision to let him go to the Rainbow Bridge. I hope your dog starts recovering soon - many do. Prayers sent!

How awful! Honestly I thought she was having a stroke as well hence our rush to the emergency vet. Her regular vet saw her Monday and agreed it was Vestibular Syndrome. It's been 72 hours and thankfully she is now walking on her own (we still have to balance her), she ate a little on her own this morning and is drinking on her own so I am over the moon about the progress. I know it will take some time if she ever fully recovers but I'll take what I can get. I'm sorry about Chipper....I can't imagine.

Thanks! Our regular vet at the time said he didn't have time to see him that day when it happened, so we called another vet in town who said to bring him in immediately. Needless to say, we left our original, uncaring vet. The new vet was great and caring; it was just his time to go, I guess.

I'm SOOOOO glad your girl is getting better!! That's wonderful news!!
