Sending Mojo
Lido had a growth removed from his left shoulder last Friday. Earlier, I thought it was a bee sting, and I took him to the vet, who found bloody fluid when she aspirated it, and prescribed prednisone. The fluid went away, but a hard knot that was attached was left behind.
I told my vet I wanted it off. She agreed and took the growth off last Friday. She had to dig down to the muscle to dig it out, and it took three layers of stitches to close it afterwards. She sent it off to the lab for testing, and we're hoping it's just a non - cancerous cyst. Lido's awfully young to have cancer.
I should find out the results by Friday. Good thoughts appreciated.

Any chance he'd had a vaccination there at some time?
All good thoughts headed your way.

Lots of good thoughts. Re. Barb's comment, yes, particularly rabies vac. More common in cats from my reading, and small dogs, but not unheard of for rabies to provoke a reaction like that.

Thanks for the well wishes! Lido has not had any recent vaccines. He had been trying to catch carpenter bees in our yard, which is why I thought it was a bee sting.
Sending good thoughts your way
Prayers sent!
