Thanks....I typically do too, but am so leary on giving him anything at this point... poor guy has had so many different medications in the last week with the surgery and then treatment for his tummy trouble

Yeah, my first thought was to hold off on the pumpkin for a while to see where things are headed. If he pooped out a lot yesterday then not pooping yet today doesn’t sound too surprising. In addition to being bland, a bland diet is also usually low residue so there might not be a lot in there. Blood would scare the poop out of me, too. Fingers still crossed that this clears up soon. Baby boy has had enough to deal with this year.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

I think someone flipped a switch over night....Dozer woke up today, full of energy, wanting to play (which unfortunately he can’t yet), has his breakfast and went outside and pooped....not completely formed, but so much better than it has been AND no blood or mucous

Great news! So what could have it been? What did the vet say? Side-effect of the anesthesia?

Vet isn't 100% sure...believes probably a combination of the anesthetic/post-op meds and stress.
