And I think I can safely say Dozer is back to himself.... so full of energy we are having a hard time keeping him quiet AND he is pooping, back to his twice a day, no blood, no mucous, formed!! I have never been happier to see poop

So glad Dozer is back to his frisky, happy, normal pooping self! It would certainly seem bizarre to non-pet owning folk to observe our fascination for our dog's poop- size, shape, consistency, frequency- the whole 9 yards! But we all understand your joy today!

Dozer is three weeks post neuter... once he recovered from his bowel issues he seemed fine and I figured that was the end of things. That was until Thursday evening when he was lying on the couch beside me and I noticed his incision was red. I had looked at it a few days before and it was healed so I hadn’t given it much thought. The incision is red and really inflamed looking with what looks like tiny dried pus areas...Has anyone had anything like this happen post neuter... at three weeks when the incision has healed?? I sent the pictures to my Vet and I am putting Polysporin on the areas and he is back wearing his surgical recovery shirt. I haven’t seen him licking the area or bothering with it when we are around. Looks like his skin doesn't like the sutures. I wouldn't be surprised if a little suture material started poking through those inflamed areas. Looking forward to hearing what the vet has to say!

Thats exactly what the Vet figures it is....we are to treat with warm compresses and Polysporin for the weekend and see how he is Tuesday

Good luck...that really does look like the most likely explanation. Poor guy....just when you thought he was out of the woods (or, at least, the shirt).

Sending good thoughts for your boy...did your Vet use dissolving sutures?

    Hope he heals okay.

    Thank you.
Yes dissolving sutures. No real change in how it looks today.
