One of our first dogs had lymphoma that seemed to appear overnight. We'd just lost her littermate to something unrelated 2 weeks earlier and were pretty devastated. This was 25 years ago, so we didn't do chemo or anything. Hoping for you that it's something easily treated.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

No experience, but sending many good thoughts that this turns out to be something more acceptable.

Vet called, It's positive for lymphoma. Trying to get an appt with oncologist Mon or Tues just to get a fully informed opinion. My husband and are unsure of what our plans are, depends on a variety of factors I suppose. Thanks for all your support.

Sorry to hear, but am glad you will be seeing an oncologist. Definitely best to get the opinion of a specialist. Please keep us posted.

So sorry to hear the diagnosis. We had a dog on chemo for a different reason and he appeared to have no side effects from it. I think dogs just don't seem to feel a crappy as humans sometimes do. I hope the oncologist offers some hope.

I am so sorry. Our nitwit vet sent us to a surgeon. No idea why. He was an idiot.

Canine lymphoma treatment is not a cure but depending how far along you are it can give up to about 18 months or so.

Take your time and make an informed decision.

So, so sorry. Not what I was hoping to hear.

Our Bandit had a tumor on his leg with enlarged lymph nodes in his leg and neck. Although biopsies were inconclusive, the oncologist was certain it was cancer. At 12 years old, we opted to not do surgery since it was in an area of the leg where there would not be enough tissue to cover the wound requiring skin grafts, chemo and radiation.

Your pup is much younger and getting to an oncologist as soon as you can to find out the options is the best move.

    Sending prayers and mojo.
