I think it's getting infected cause the white part that looks like it is a scar is changing a yellowish tint. And the deepest part still isn't really healing so I'm going to take her on Monday when I get off work. I didn't think the part that was scarring would change color since there isn't an openness to it anymore. Hoping tomorrow it changes. Anything I can do until then? I'm a worried mama now!

Should heal up fine. The antibiotic ointment is good. My only worry would depend upon how she did it and the risk of infection from the initial injury depending upon what caused the scrape. I would probably do what you are doing if it was my pup. Or just call the vet for their advice for a scrape, I've done that with minor things before.

Good idea, I'll call the emergency vet and ask since my vet isn't open today. The yellow part I mentioned is now just a scab. So it looks good. She initially did it on the wood step out back. I saw her trip and slide across it. I immediatly cleaned it and put neosporin on it so she hasn't gone without medication. She sleeps with me so I let it breathe over night and she's back to being wrapped today. I'll unwrap it later and see how it goes. I just worry about tomorrow her licking it while I'm at work! And I would get a cone, but Sofia is the big sister who loves to lick maya down head to foot, especially cuts!

Sounds like good news and a lot of luck with the licking issue. I'm with my dogs basically 24/7 and I can tell you it's pretty challenging

Well, she got away from me and went outside and licked her wound to the point where it's open again. And a little red. So more neosporin, wrapped back up (I thought letting it breath would be better-nope) and a cone is being brought home tomorrow after work. Hoping this works and no need for a vet visit. Fingers crossed! I emailed the vet and hoping they can give me some advice and maybe an appt!

Your dog really needs a Vet Visit...

What is stopping you from making an appt? It would have been so much better if she was seen by a Vet right away.

The neosporin may actually delay it from healing...

    She really needs a Vet.

I sent pictures to the vet and she informed me that the cut looked to be healing and a visit is not necessary. If, however, it isn't healed by Thursday then Friday we are going to the vet. But as of now it looks to be much better. She seems to not lick it when it isn't covered oddly enough. She hates being bandaged. I'm keeping an eye on her and clean/check her wound multiple times a day!
