    Bordatella

My vet requires they get their bordatella every 6 months to even come in to the office for anything... I just tried to make Luna's rabies vaccine appointment and receptionist asked if I wanted to get her bordatella done too... I declined and she asked if I wanted to do it when Luna came in October to be spayed and I said no, we don't want to revaccinate her for it again. And she told me they weren't allowed to step foot in the office without it if they're there for grooming, anything.
I think that's kind of totally crazy, but I'm not a vet or a vet tech.
I love my vet, but aren't too crazy about the practice.

Time to find a new vet?

Absolutely, I would not use any vet that made that kind of demand on their clients. Find a new vet, one that allows you to make the decisions on what vaccines your dog gets.

new vet and I would tell them why you are leaving when you find a new vet.

sounds like a really great way to get more money from clients! I can see their thinking, they don't want to comtaminate the waiting room with kennel cough and have a bunch of dogs get it from there then complain loudly to their office. but even if a dog has the vaccination they can still GET kennel cough and bring it in the office so it's not a full proof plan anyway.
