Best wishes for the vet!

Thanks everyone for the replies. I tried to get the appointment for today BUT I could not get by the receptionist. So our appointment is tomorrow at 5:45. Now since I had a good look at the posts and researched images on the net I remember one of my pointers had an almost identical looking growth between the upper knuckles on his toes. I recall the vet not being alarmed. This little picture is BooBoo helping me tie Salmon flies at my Salmon camp. She has to inspect every feather, thread, tinsel, hook and hair I use on the flies. She helps me make good choices.
I won't feel good until we see the vet.
Sending good thoughts for the vet appointment-please let us know what happens

Well the vet really wouldn't say for sure with out tests. She was very careful and just said it might be some sort of tumor but tests would be required to be sure. I asked and she clarified if was some sort of tumor it might be or might not be cancer.
The only really sure way to tell what it is to remove it, neatly close it up and send it away. She explained the needle sample is not very reliable sample for testing.
Monitor it and see what happens, what to see if it changes: enlarges etc.
I decided to monitor it 1 week at a time. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks
Everyone
Just seeing this. I agree with keeping an eye on it. It really does look like a histio but you can never really be certain without testing. I'd never had a vet tell me that the needle aspiration wasn't a good idea....perhaps not the most reliable, but still done with a fair degree of confidence.
Good thoughts for BooBoo that it'll just disappear.
Great pic, by the way.

Keeping our fingers and paws crossed, so it's nothing serious and it disappears as suddenly and unexpectedly as it appeared
