    lump on hip

Cori had a lump on her left hip. I made an appointment for tomorrow at the vet. Now I can't find the lump, am unsure whether it is even there anymore. She needs to go in for her rabies shot, so I will have the vet take a look anyway. She doesn't have any symptoms of illness. Any ideas or knowledge out there of these sorts of things?

How old is Cori? It may have been a bug bite, who knows! I would definitely have the vet check her out but would hold off in any vaccinations until you get a clean bill of health. Good thoughts that all is ok and there is nothing to worry about.

She is 7. The lump was about as big as a 50 cent piece I think, but not real raised. It wasn't visible unless you were looking for it. I don't think it was a bug bite. Now not sure if it is gone or just moved??

Most the time, it's the lumps that STAY that we worry about. Lipomas, mast cell tumors.

I thought Grace had a lipoma developing and then one day it was gone. It was just a little lump under the skin. It probably got absorbed back in. She has a real lipoma now.

If you can't find it now, I wouldn't worry about it. I would still do your vet exam and then ask them to do a VERY thorough physical exam, maybe the vet will find it.

Hoping it is nothing, but have the vet document the location on a body diagram to add to Cori's file-for future reference.

I was thinking possible hematoma and reabsorbed and the reason you can't find it. I agree with full vet check prior to vaccinating.

With seniors, lumps and bumps are part of daily life. Mardi has one lipoma which for her age I think is pretty good. Archie has quite a few of papillomas, several checked and all negative.

Sending good thoughts and mojo that it's gone or is a nothing, like a fat deposit.

When I first felt Cookie's lipoma on his chest, I had trouble finding it again. Took me some time. After a couple of tries, I know exactly where it is and can find it immediately.
