(Venting a tiny bit, but don't want it taken wrong :-) Chronic diarrhea, ACL injury, hot spots…..He's only 8 months old. I hope the elderly years are kind to me (and him), but I have some concerns for sure based on what we have had so far. I am out of my element with some of this stuff. I appreciate everyone's help on here.
Your story is very sad and my heart breaks for this puppy. I am glad you now know better and can educate others. Sadly, your knowledge comes at the expense of a puppy that has suffered from health issues for at least the last 4 months, not to mention the damage to your bank account. Thank god you are willing to do everything possible to help this puppy, many are not as lucky. I pray there is a special place in hell for breeders like his. Labradors are wonderful dogs and I hope this has not soured you on having a great experience in the future with a reputable breeder.

Someone told me that when breeders take back puppies like this (since I technically have a 1 year warranty on him) that sometimes they put them down. I wouldn't do that anyway, but he'd probably get put down otherwise because who would want him? He's a good dog though. I am hoping I am paying my dues now and have smooth sailing once he is older. We'll see.

a good breeder would never put them to sleep unless it was the best decision to ease their pain. a byb, mill or questionnable breeder well, yeah you don't want to go there.
