We went in for an eye recheck since Grizz has had goopy eyes for several months now and the last medication didn't work. Grizz thinks he's safe on the bench but it only makes for an easier exam for the vet. We're leaning towards blocked tear ducts since the fluorescent liquid didn't drain out of his nose like it should have. It's always something....

Sorry, it always seems to be something
Hope they can get it right. He does look safe up there on the bench. Lol
Ah Grizz. You do look cute on the bench though.
Will medication help open the duct?
Grizz looks so thrilled
We are trying an antibiotic ointment in case there is an infection in the tear duct. Then next step would be a procedure to flush the duct (not too expensive considering). Then if that didn't work, and perhaps the duct is collapsed, I would have to see an eye dr. about a stent. OR it's not a big deal to leave it either, but he'll have messy eyes...

Bless him and you! it is so traumatic when they are sick - I wish they could speak!
Have you tried the hot compress followed by a massage technique to open the duct in case there is some crystalized eye goop blocking it? I had to do that years ago, but I don't remember the specific time--I think maybe 10-20 minutes, repeated a couple times a day to loosen things up.
He looks as though he would like to back out through that wall!
I should try the compress, he'll love the "mommy and me" time...
