    Jessie is back on board

Hi......Just getting back on board. Having trouble with the avatar
Jessie has recovered from her second bout of pancreatitis. This second time we suspect was due to ketoconazole, given to her for yeast.
Those who have been following will remember what started this 'over-8-years-long' problem for Jessie.
The topical treatments we are using for her seem to be keeping her comfortable & much less itchy.
Yesterday the poor girl had a bath at the groomers & came home all cramped up & hardly able to climb the steps. She has been in pain all night & I am giving her baby aspirin until I she either loosens up today or sees the vet tomorrow.
I can't imagine what else could go wrong in her life. She is treated like a queen .... only the best of everything. Could that be the problem, lol?
The vets claim there have been no reports of ketoconazole causing pancreatitis. Well, there is always a first time, isn't there?
I would caution anyone who has a sensitive dog to be very careful with this drug & if it must be tried, go very slow at first, please.

Hi, new member here. Sorry can not go back and read Jessie's story, but understand having a dog with a bout of pancreatitis. Our Jake had it later in life, actually thought we were going to loose him then. Hoping Jessie feels better soon. Thanks for the insight on the drug. Definitely something to know when considering the medical decisions we need to make for our furry friends.
