Please go to and read the link.
Grizzly is a 1 year old Labrador that has come up with an unexpected injury , he broke his premolar in his mouth and is running a high risk of infection and is in a lot of pain. I would be rushing him to the vet but one thing is holding that back... Financial issues .. Time are tough and I hate to ask for help but my dignity is the last thing im worried about when it comes to my dog. Anything helps , Thank you to everyone who take the time to read this . Bless you All

Can you set up a payment plan with your vet or apply for Care Credit? Meanwhile, sending good thoughts. If I were you, I would borrow money from family and friends and rush him to the vet.

I cant apply for carecredit myself since im only 17 at the moment. I'm looking into a family member to possibly help with that at the moment , and no vet around here locally does there own payment plan without care credit sadly. Usually i have money in the bank for such emergency's but other circumstances have dried those up at the worst possible time. Thank you very much for your good wishes and thoughts it means a lot to me. If i cant find the funds on my own by Monday, i will be looking into possible taking out a loan. The only thing that matters is his health and well being . Thank you again Halcyon. (:

What about your mom or dad for CareCredit?

Lacey Animal Hospital, Banfield, Hawks Prairie, Mountain View, Companion Veterinary and Farmhouse Veterinary are all practices that accept Care Credit near you.

I would talk to the vet (or call around to look for one) that will set up a payment plan. Best and cheapest option would be to pull the tooth. If you are on a tight budget, you don't need to get talked into fancy dental work for a dog. He'll do just fine minus the tooth.

My big guy just went through a broken tooth incident himself; it was a much smaller tooth, but was very painful for him and yes, he too had to be on antibiotics for prevention of infection entering into the pulp.

Are you the dog's owner; or are your parents?.....Just curious as your only 17 & I would assume still living at home.

If you're living on your own at 17, it has got to be extremely rough trying to support a dog too.

I have seen it happen more then once however, when a parent tells the child if they want the dog, they have to pay for all expenses - I've seen that a lot, and my hats off to you.

Your best bet is to see about a vet willing to take payments; they are out there - thing is, you need to talk to the owner of the clinic.....it's generally your small town, small ownership clinics that will do payments. Your bigger clinics most likely won't - especially from a 17yr old as you are not legally bound to anything until you are 18.

And, in fact, you mention trying to take out a loan; but you'll have to have a co-signer......no bank will dish a loan out to a minor.
