For my daughter's dog, it has been a change in her itching and scratching behavior. She would sleep through the night quietly before, now she's up frequently licking/chewing her paws and scratching her neck/ears.

Much like Smart Rocks daughter: Macy started chewing her legs excessively. She would wake up at night to itch and chew. She has some hair loss where she scratched or chewed. I tried everything I had done previously to help soothe the itchies but nothing worked this time so off to the vet we went.
Day four Apoquel: no night time itching. I've seen her itch just once today and she stopped after a few scratches like "normal scratching" I can pet her and she doesn't start to itch.
