I just thought the bleeding part was only supposed to last for a week to 10 days?

Daisy bled for 3 weeks, the 2nd week being the heaviest. I kept her home an additional week after the bleeding stopped to be on the safe side. I feel your pain.

Thanks. I am happy I am only doing this once I thought we got off easy when she was mildly spotting the first week.
Brownie is 10 Months now, and what a mess. lol
She started spotting a couple weeks ago...... now she can't keep herself clean.
My lab bled for more than 10 days. It was two weeks, I think. She had a recessed vulva that only partly resolved. We decided to spay her anyway as I have been able to stave off UTIs by giving her cranberry caps and probiotics. She's doing great now, thankfully!
So, it has been awhile since she finished her heat. Her breast tissue seems to be swollen, especially her 4 bottom teats. Is this normal? Did she find a suitor? I thought I kept good watch on her. I was expecting her nipples to get a bit bigger, but wasn't expecting this much breast development. Does this happen in every bitch, or is it a sign of false pregnancy or heaven forbid, real pregnancy? Good news is, even with the swelling down and her vulva being about the size it was before, it is popped out now so I think her heat definitely cured her recessed vulva.
Luna had swollen breasts for a while. She no longer has them and it's been 9 months since her heat.
What do you mean you think you kept a good watch on her? If you supervised her 100%, you would know if she was tied up with a male. I'm kind of confused by what you mean. Was she left in the yard unattended?

she was left briefly unattended in the well-fenced backyard (15 minutes, tops) on occasion, but we don't have a stray dog problem in our area. We have a secure, solid 6 foot fence. I would have noticed if a dog had breached it. I am about as confident as I can be that no dog got to her.
