    Post tooth extraction concern..

Cooper had his bottom 3rd premolar removed Friday and has been doing well so far I think but I did notice a white spot on his gums where the tooth was removed and am not sure if this is normal or if I should be concerned. It's hard to get a good look at it as he keeps putting his tongue over it when I open his mouth. He isn't on any antibiotics post extraction and seems to be acting normally. I have attached a picture of it. I am going to call the vet tomorrow and email them the photo. Any thoughts???

Well, now that he has fallen asleep I have had an easier time looking in his mouth and the white is a tip of the tooth beside where the extraction was done. I guess with the swelling in his gums only the tip is visible. Makes me feel better
Time to relax and not be such a worrier lol....

So I still didn't like the look of Coopers extraction site and took him in to have it looked at. The Vet didn't like the look of it either and removed the stitches and cleaned the socket out. I am to continue cleaning the socket out once a day with water followed by an antiseptic mouthwash solution and take him back in Monday.

Cooper had his follow up appointment this morning. The Vet is pleased with the healing so far, said the socket is filling in with granulation tissue. Cooper is happy because he is allowed to have all his soft stuffed toys to play with....it's been a long 10 days with no toys. He can't have any of his chew toys for a bit yet and no tugging toys but it was like Christmas for him when he got home and got to play.

Good to read he is on the mend. I can only imagine how happy he was to see his toys
