    The vet should be doing a follow up within 10 days or so after the spay, just do it then. I personally would not do any type of vaccination at the same time as a surgery.

    No real compelling reason not to wait until the after spay check-up. Lola's first bordetella vaccine was a shot, then the vet switched to an oral vaccine for the subsequent boosters.

    I would do it when you go back for follow up after spay. I would not give any vaccinations at time of any surgery.

    I agree with most here...I would not give any vaccine at the same time as a surgery.

    Remember....when it comes to your dog, you can be his advocate. You don't have to do anything, you don't want to do.
