You can spread the kibble on a cookie sheet or there are bowls designed to slow eating.

Thanks everyone for your input. Looks like ill be cutting back on his food and see if that helps.

I agree with all the PPs -- Archie will be two in May and around 70 lbs. Six cups of food is a LOT! Archie only gets about half that.
To slow down eating, you can mix dry food with water. You can also freeze kibble in a Kong. Mix a couple cups of dry food with water (also can add mashed cooked sweet potato or pumpkin, a little yogurt, eggs, peanut butter, a sprinkling of freeze dried food etc.) and let it sit for a couple hours to absorb. Plug one end of the Kong with a baby carrot and then fill it with the mix. Put it in a coffee mug and put in the freezer every night. Part of Archie's meal every day is served this way. Takes him about 30 minutes to finish.
There are also various food dispensing toys that slow down eating. Hope this is the end of the vomiting!
agree with all the advice above
- 3 cups per meal is a BIG meal all at once, 6 cups is A LOT of food in a day. If he needs that much of that particular food maybe look at other foods he would need less food.
- I don't allow a dog to run or play vigourously for an hour before and after eating (a short walk is fine)
- coudl be eating too fast, a good option like was recommended is a toy or food dispenser to slow down eating AND occupy the brain (brain exercise is very important at that age)

I agree that it seems like too much food. Bacon is an extremely active hunting dog and he eats 2 cups at each meal. Is this the amount that the previous owner/shelter was feeding him (unless I am mistaken, I remember you saying you have only had him a little while)?
When he is throwing up, is he retching, or is it more of a burp up? If it is a burp up, then I think the speed of eating/drinking is definitely the culprit. When Bacon drinks, we have him sit for a while afterwards. If we dont, we tend to get burp up water.
For slowing him down, try putting a ball in his bowl, or serving meals on a sheet pan. There are also slow-feed bowls.

Today Rubble was only fed 1.5ish cups at each meal and it was spread on a cookie sheet, no throw up!!! We also made him take breaks from the water bowl. Hopefully this issue has been resolved. Thanks again everyone!

Glad this resolved things for your handsome boy.
note that if you suddenly go from 6 cups a day to 3 cups of the same food you may have a hungry hungry fellow. I'd recommend slowly cutting by 1 cup per week or so. Unless he seems fine I guess, then it doesn't mater. But I know if I cut my daily intake by half I'd be pretty crazy haha, easier to slowly reduce.
