    So sorry to read this. Is he not bearing weight or did the vet tell you not to let him bear weight? I hope he figures it out- there are dogs with amputations that must figure out how to poop so hopefully he'll manage it, too. Maybe a harness can help you steady him, if he'll go while you stand right next to him. I guess if he's gotta go, he'll go.

    I cancelled the appt with the surgeon at the referral hospital that my vet recommended. The two options that she gave me were two e-vets that I consider to be "big box" vets, and I didn't feel comfortable with either choice. Did some research and found a much smaller referral ortho surgeon, and that make's me feel more comfortable now. Our appt is tomorrow at 10:30.

    Really Sorry. As far as getting around when my labs have had torn ACLs (Brutus at 2 and Rocket at age 7) they could get around on three legs before their surgeries to do their business with some encouragement. May need to use a sling under his belly at first to show him he can go out.
