    Knee injury - traditional procedure?

Our Lab, who's 5, may or may not need knew surgery - we're just learning about this and have to have her X-rays done. Can someone please tell me what the "traditional" procedure is? Our vet talked about TPLO but I'd love to hear about less evasive procedures.

(My account seemed to have gotten deleted so I'm starting new with the same user name. I've been on here about 5 years.)

My dog is 5 weeks post-op from a TPLO, but I found this site really helpful.

We all lost our accounts about a year ago now when the entire Board crashed. Some signed back up with their old usernames, others chose new usernames.
That link you provided Sue is a very handy resource, thanks for posting it!

It's also called extracapsular. That's the surgery we did for Cookie's torn cruciate 5 years ago. Never had any issues since.
