    Bruce Limping

My stomach is so knotted up I just want to puke.

I took the dogs to the dog park to place and swim. The swam a bit, played with a 6 month old husky pup and generally had a good time. Nothing out of the ordinary walking back to the car, both loaded up fine. Got home unloaded, went to the back yard to wash them off, and I saw Bruce limp just slightly on one step, then he was completely normal. Hosed them off, he and Sophie did their normal run around chasing the hose water etc. I dried them off, we went back to the front of the house and in through the garage. Still nothing abnormal. I finished up some cleaning in the house, the dogs were just laying there chilling out. Bruce gets up, and he's limping a bit, and hold his right rear paw off the ground slightly. I call him, and can see him limping a bit, as he stops he pulls his leg up holding the foot slightly off the floor. I had him lay down, and checked range of motion in the hip, knee, and ankle joints. I was very gentle and none of the movements seemed to cause any discomfort. I checked his paw and toes, again no apparent issue. I checked the left leg to see if there was any difference, and there was not.

I called the vet and have an appointment for 5:30. He has been sleeping for the most part, but when he gets up he is definitely limping, and reluctant to put weight on the leg for a few steps.

I worried sick it's the knee. I know there are no knee issues in his lines, but you never know.

I need some of that famous Lab Board mojo right now hoping its nothing serious.

I'll post what the Vet says when I get home.

I surely hope it's just a "tweak" and nothing serious. I know exactly how you feel- it feels like dread to see either of our dogs seem to limp, even for only a step or 2. Good luck and let us know!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Oh gosh -- I know how you feel! Just went through this myself. Turned out to be a weird cut on the paw and just needed some time off and antibiotics. Hopefully it's just a cut or a thorn or something simple and relatively painless. Good luck!

Feel better Bruce! I hope it's something tiny - a pokie or cut between the toes or something. After Thor's last camping trip in the desert we were picking pokies out for a week before his tender stepping stopped.

Oh no! Hoping is nothing more than a pulled muscle. Maybe something between the pads?

    Sending mojo Bruce's way.
