    Post Neuter question

Tango was neutered at approx 1.5 years old when we adopted him.
As Zen and Aiko were puppies when neutered, I am curious how long (if ever) the empty bag of marbles should shrink up?

The only one I had neutered after he'd attained more than 6 months was our first Lab, Brutus. Bru was....shall we say.....rather large.....

I don't remember the exact amount of time it took but Bru ended up being smooth back there.

Dan was neutered at 6 months and underneath a LOT of fur, there's still a bit of skin. Dan is now 5.

    Doesn't help, does it?

Chase was neutered at age 3. He was swollen for a while at first but now, there's nothin' to look at here, folks. I can't say I monitored it too closely but I'd say within a month or so, there was not much left hanging. I've heard of a procedure called scrotal ablation but even if he had anything to remove, unless it was causing a problem, I wouldn't.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Have had three neutered and it took 2 months or so.

Did laugh at our Dalmatian. He managed to have totally black testicles and a white butt. A few weeks after surgery he had two black pancakes. They eventually drew up to look like his other spots.

Jake's went from flaps to nothing in about 2-3 months. Ice, have no clue as he had a lot of fur.

Poptop, still giggling over your story about your Dalmatian and his black pancakes.

Dexter was neutered recently at 18 months and I'd be lying if I didn't say I was horrified at how big and floppy it was ( he was quite large) but in just a few weeks it's totally shrunk and is just noticeable to me I think bc I'm looking for it.
