Glad to hear Tilly's eyelid is healing well. I hope the antibiotic clears up the discharge so she can finally get rid of the cone for the sake of her comfort and your safety.
10 day post eye op check and our Vet is very happy with the way the eyelid is healing, however there is a bit of swelling and slight discharge (literally started today) so eye antibiotic cream and the cone for another 3 to 5 days. Vet thinks that a hair or pollen may have irritated her eye as she cannot scratch/clean it - argh!
Poor little monkey, she was so happy to get the cone off for the eye exam and the Vet (and I) had an 'awww' moment, when she laid her head into my shoulder for a snuggle when the cone was off.
In addition to the bruised shins and 'scarred' furniture and doorways from the massive cone, I have learnt the hard way to be extra careful as she is healing and feeling better. She knocked me for six the other evening when she ran out the back door to give the resident possum a telling off. She barrelled into me from behind, my legs went out from under me and my back bore the brunt of the corner of a brick wall coming down. Far out it hurt and I am literally black and blue across the shoulder blades as a result, luckily it was not my head!
Much as we both hate the cone, better to be safe rather than sorry and keep it on for a little longer so all is healed before I go back to work. Beware of the cone!

Ouch! Sorry to hear about your bruises and the continued cone-age.
When Kimber was spayed, silly monkey chewed her stitches out at the vet's and had to be stapled back together, which prolonged her recovery. At the vet checkup, the vet prescribed an additional week of cone and 'keep her quiet', much to my and DH's dismay. On the bright side, once she was released from restrictions, Kimber bounced back to her normal happy self.

Good to hear Tilly is healing. Sending good thoughts that the additional med helps complete the healing process and the cone can come off.
OUCH! It will be a great relief to you too when the cone is gone. Hope your bumps, bruises and aches feel better soon.
