Any news yet? I agree, trust your intstincts. Just a warning, so many times I have but nothing was far enough along for the Vet to test out and back we would be going in about a week. So if Piper comes home with an all clear but you still think something is off, I'd go with you, watch more.

Thanks for all your good thoughts. They did barium and roughly half passed by last night. The vet said there was no hard blockage but he was a little concerned about soft blockage. They let her come home and I have to take her back today between 11-12 to make sure it all has passed. He showed me her xrays and her intestines were a mess on the first one. By the second one they looked better, they had given her antibiotics and pain meds. He said if everything all passed today then he was comfortable saying it was an infection of some sort. They did xrays, blood work and stool sample.

I am ridiculously relieved and will be even more so after her last xrays but one piece still concerns me and I'd like ya'lls opinion on it. I told the vet about her increase in food and my worry about her weight loss even after doing so and while he said that wasn't normal, he kept going back to her xrays looking better and other test results being negative. What are your thoughts?

Sorry to hear about this. Are you giving her some good probiotics? I'd be doing 2x a day right now until she's past all this.
I'm not sure what they are calling a soft blockage (what's coming out the other end?).

No, he said a hard blockage would show up on the xrays and a soft one would not. I assumed a hard blockage would be a rock, a twig, something of consistency whereas fabric or I don't paper, would be soft. I will get her probiotics after her xray today-thanks for that. Also, would you be concerned about the weight or just keep an eye on it?

    poor little girl

The yellow gums would concern me combined with the weight loss, did they check her liver and bilirubin levels?

I'd definitely be concerned but then I'm one to want to know causes..... Socks etc from what my vet said are far worse than rocks because they can get entangled in the intestines.
