Yes foxtail! When I was in Switzerland my Oma would soak her dogs feet in an epsom salt bath after walking on the trails. 10-15 minutes is good, hopefully you can get them to stand still though! It's preventative, start doing it again for aftercare...of course talk with your vet

Interdigital cyst or wart.. or whatever it was... I live in FLORIDA and there are no FOXTAILS in this state. STILL... I am glad I took her to emergency vet where he verified that it will resolve itself ... I have now a foot wash.. cream, antibiotics, and some anti-inflammatory meds for her foot. I will work the treatment plan and see if it goes down. The vet tech who helped us as well is from the WEST coast and knows very well of FOXTAILS. I am just relieved that she is fine. She does have a slight limp but vet says she is fine. AT least I could sleep last night.. Sophie and Amie snored.
    thank you all,

What a relief. If it weren't for your gator issue, I'd be tempted to move there to get out of foxtail territory.

Warts eventually fall off, but be prepared for looots of blood when it happens. Just don't freak out like I did

A little early in the year for foxtails or cheat grass. Labs are really prone to interdigital cysts (sterile cysts) an I would be betting on that. Most vets will block the area and search for a foreign body but if nothing is found it is usually treated as an interdigital cyst. They are inflammatory in nature and show up in multiple paws at times. There is a link to these with food sensitivities and I have had good luck getting them to go away and stay away with feeding a non-processed diet. If they become persistent and not responding to conventional treatment, Chinese herbs do a good job. I like xu fu zu yu tang (stasis in the mansion of the blood). Good luck.
