Sam was getting bare elbows last summer even though he spent most of his time on soft surfaces. The hair grew back over winter. I am noticing thinning of the hair again now. I bought an elevated bed hoping it would be cooler and he'd use it. Neither dog will lie on it unless I put something on it so then we're back to a warm bed instead of a cooler bed.

Wow .. excellent advice .. She seems to be so picky? Tons of toys, plays with a plastic water bottle instead, likes hard floors compared to comfortable pillows .. just being her I guess .. but thanks for the heads up!

Ginger age 11 and Chula age 6 have them. Jax, who will be 1 year later this month, does not have them yet. They don't seem to be problematic, just unsightly.

Jolene has them year round. She can lay on the furniture, our bed, one of her 2 beds, but no, she chooses to lay on the floor most of the time. Not super nice to look at but cause zero issues.

My mums lab x gets them every summer - she puts a bit of vaseline on them but they disappear not earlier than in October. Any of my dogs have them but they just don't have a chance to lie on bare floor as we've got carpets everywhere
