    Update on Daisy's Cushing's diagnosis

Daisy went in for her last diagnostic testing today, an ultrasound of the abdomen. Both of the adrenal glands were enlarged the same amount so the vet has ruled out adrenal tumors and is thinking we are dealing with the microscopic tumor in the pituitary gland. I feel so relieved, I was terrified that they were going to tell me my dog was filled with tumors but thankfully that is not the case. The ultrasound was performed at a specialist vet instead of our regular one. He said Daisy seems to be a textbook case of Cushing's and he'll be forwarding his treatment plan over to our regular vet for us to proceed from there.

We are both eager and nervous to start treatment. We took Daisy to the beach this past weekend and it really hit us just how much she had slowed down these past couple of months. She didn't have the same energy to run and swim and play like she used to. We hope treatment will get us our girl back with very little negative side effects. Trying to stay optimistic.

I'm glad you have a plan and things don't seem as bad as they could be. I'm glad it can be treated by your regular vet with consultation from the specialist, too. Daisy's too young to be slowing down that much!

I'm glad you can move forward with treatment now and that it can be managed. It is so hard to see them going through stuff...they are the light of our lives.
