I checked her body all over a few minutes ago, and she's clear, as are ears. No ticks or gunk!

She and her best friend in the world had a playdate for half an hour and I just took her for a nice long walk. I think the A/C helped, since she's no longer panting. So far, I'm operating under the assumption she just needed a good playdate with her bestie since it's been rainy all week and she hasn't been able to be as active as usual!

I did text my vet, and she wants me to see how she does over the weekend and if she's still acting weirdly, bring her in on Monday.

    Thanks all!

You wrote that she had a recessed vulva and was allowed to go through one heat cycle which was in April. Does she have any mammary development and any milk? Sometimes the girls go through a tiny bit of false pregnancy, and on the week that they would have given birth, they go through some nesting and cramps, as though they were to give birth. That being said, did she have any playdates with intact males while in season? Does she have any clear sticky discharge or a colored one from her vulva?

The weather and lack of exercise, plus the humidity, could also just have made her stir crazy and uncomfortable. Add hormones into the mix, and, well, you have Luna!

She does have little nipples, no milk. She's definitely not pregnant... no playdates with any intact males, or any dogs while a week before, a week after and during her season. No discharge at all from her vulva.

We definitely think she's stir crazy + full moon... should not have named her Lunar Eclipse! ;-)

I know the first humid weather after winter really drags me down. Had to put the AC on to relieve us of all the rain and humidity.

So glad Luna is feeling better and had a lovely play date and long walk. Hoping you can text your Vet Monday, all is well with Luna.

The weirdest thing I ever said to a vet was, "There's something wrong with my dog." And there was. We all sound a little nuts sometimes.

I hope everything is all right with Luna.

Yesterday, we threw her a birthday party and she was LOVING it, then took her to see her big brother (the horse), and then a nice hike at her favorite state park. It was go-go-go and she LOVED it!

Turns out she just needed her air conditioning and lots of attention/exercise. Thank goodness it was just that, and nothing more!

Great update. It does take time for them to adjust to the hot weather especially when it's humid. Mardi has had a few "down" days with similar weather conditions this spring.
