As for the supplements for joint issues:

    - turmeric
    - fish oil
    - vitamin C
    - glucosamine & chondroitine
    - bone broth
    - green lipped mussel
    - devil's claw
    - MSM
    - SAMe

There may be many more that I currently forget.

I have used Flexadin for years (G & C & Devil's Claw) and have recently started Cookie on YuMove (G & C & green lipped mussel & vit C). It's not much cheaper but it is cheaper. That's not the reason I switched, I just wanted to change the ingredients for a while. Apart from that he gets turmeric paste every other day, fish oil (salmon oil) every other day and bone broth. No NSAIDs for now, we are managing fine even though Cookie hasn't still fully recovered from the FHO. Apart from that he does have hip dysplasia in the other hip, bone spurs in every joint you can think of and spondylosis.

Having a (senior) dog with joint issues (arthritis) can be quite overwhelming and expensive but if I have to choose from any chronic conditions and illnesses I'll choose arthritis any time.

**Turmeric cant hurt, its easy to prepare & people swear by it and I have read TONS of good stuff. I started it about a year ago. Sometimes I fall off and don't make it fro a few weeks but generally every day in addition to a supplement. I use Joint Care from Dr. Foster & Smith.

Pure MSM is cheap. I buy 5# at a time for ~$39 locally. I personally take that plus glucosamine (Kirkland brand) daily for my back. I give it to my <2 yo pups and >9 yo pups daily as well but I have no issues w/ the dogs.

i may ask around about flexadin maybe I can use that for a bit along with turmeric paste. I KNOW she will eat the flexadin and unfortunately that may become an issue with Penny (Rocky eats anything easily enough, he's a lab).
