Doesnt want her ear to get wet when swimming

I took Kimber to the pool on Saturday and yesterday. On both days, while swimming, she started tilting her head very far to the left, as if trying to keep her right ear out of the water. Usually, she retrieves the ball, swims back to me, gives me the ball, I throw it, she retrieves it, repeat for 8 or so times. But last night she wanted to get out of the water after 2 retrievals, flap her ears, and then go back in the pool. Sometimes she would flap while swimming.

I asked DH- she's not flapping her ears during the day. I clean her ears weekly and did another swipe last night- nothing. I sniffed and didn't smell anything.

Last night I made sure to dry her ears well.

    Ideas on what's going on?

It's possible that some water gets into her ears and it bothers her. Keep them dry after swimming, and if they are not dirty and they don't smell, don't worry about it.

Cadbury is kind of the same way. Like she will be swimming, and she will start just swimming in a circle or something as opposed to retrieving, and will have her head tilted to the side to where you can tell there is water in her ear bothering her. And then she will jump out and shake her head and get back in. We actually took her swimming a few weeks ago for the first time in awhile, and I noticed she seemed to be doing this a bit more than normal. Her ears seemed fine though. I wonder as they get older, if they just have a lower tolerance for uncomfortable things like that? Just a thought.....

Hemi flaps after every retrieve. If he is in the pool sometimes he flaps while swimming. He does the same thing. Odd for her to just start doing this but she might have just got a bunch of water stuck in there.

Macy flaps each time after she drops her bumper. Then gets right back in.
