1 Year Old Peeing in her sleep

I know this sounds like a joke but it really isn't. Gracie turned 1 in June and last night this happened 2 times. She was at a play group with a bunch of dogs and was exhausted when we got home. She was sleeping on the couch next to me when I noticed a large wet spot on the cover (thank god I have water resistant covers on the couch and loveseat) under her butt. She was sound asleep and didn't realize she had an accident. I got her outside, thru the cover in the washer and put a new one on the couch. After I went to bed, my daughter got up to go to sleep and Gracie did it again, in her sleep. Is this normal? She is our 4th lab and I have never had this happen before. She was drinking a lot of water but she never stopped running or playing so of course I let her drink as much as she wanted. Any thoughts?

Could be a UTI. Call your Vet and get instructions on how to take a first thing in the morning urine sample. At only one year of age it could just be an accident as you guess but I'd still ask the Vet.

I would monitor and if it happens tonight or tomorrow night, take a urine sample to the vet.

I agree. Could be a one-off accident from drinking a lot and sleeping hard, but if it happens again in the next couple days I’d check for a UTI.

I, too, agree. Lots of water & exhaustion = good opportunity for an accident.

Totally agree - if it happens again on a day with no strenuous play and zonked out, then definitely a urine sample to the vet to make sure a UTI is not brewing. Not uncommon and easily treatable.

Zoey grew out of this same thing by the age of 2. She would play hard, drink a lot and then crash hard

If it continues excessively then check for UTI

Rocky did this when he was a young adult. after a really exhausting day he drank a ton then slept and dribbled in his sleep. it passed. he was older than 1 when this happened.
