    I'm sure it's normal, he's not doing any licking there, nothing out of the ordinary, but.............
    going to the vet tomorrow and get it checked out anyway.
    If I hear any different I'll let you know.
    I used to have Bag Balm, not sure if it's still around, isn't it kinda greasy though, that's the first spot to make contact lying down.
    We used ProtectaPad by Tomlyn with Brutus...kept the calluses softer (his were already bleeding when we first got him). I put it on at night so that he'd by lying on just his own bedding. It wasn't that greasy...not as bad as Bag Balm...but still...

    I personally believe that it's genetic. Argos and Nikki have them. They are littermates. Fran and Zo don't. Same environment and sleeping conditions. Argos and Nikki have had them since they were maybe three years old.

    Leaving this update FYI;
    Rocco went to vet this morning, as I expected no big deal, common, some get them more toward the bottom, could be genetic-who knows, explained to me we get calluses to protect the bone, could pick up some vitamin E lotion for the flaking, spent the rest of the time talking dog food.
