We have the runs ..... AGAIN

This is getting pretty old real darn quick!

Tonkas beef fine the last few weeks, I switched his food to Blue Buffalo something basics.
anyways, we started a couple days ago with loose stool and now we've been up a few times tonight.

I stopped giving him pro biotics last week, any chance that could be the cause? I'm gonna pick some up when I get the kids off to school, but I didn't think he would get the runs if I stopped giving it to him?

back to chicken and rice for a few days I guess

Blue Buffalo food is very often reported here on this forum to give dogs the runs. It is a very rich food and a lot of dogs can not handle all the ingredients. I would try a simpler food for a while honestly. California Natural has limited ingredients but is a good food. Its not the best but it is perfect for this example as it is a pretty plain food.

Hang in there, we had a dog with hook worm once and it was rough.

All we give gigi is pro puppy plan and that too during our vacation we over fed her a bit and ran out . so we could only find puppy chow brands and we switch her over to that as it seems to be available more easily. Even when she had the runs but always wakes us to take her out and its usually some stuff she chewed. She older at 5 months now so she does wake me up for diarrhea runs as i call it. I am sure like gigi tonka is eating something or chewing something he should not.
gigi poop is very color full and has bits of plastic all the time... right now we generally feed her as usual and she gets better on her own.I mean she eats cat poop once in a while , toilet water ,pears from neighbors pear tree that fall and are rotting and all sort of junk like a trash cow when we blink in 2 seconds !.

I second Jeff's observations, Blue Buffalo is a rich food and some dogs don't tolerate it. Was there a reason you switched the food. We've had lots of dogs over the years and once we find something affordable for our budget and that they tolerate, we try and stick with it. Chicken and rice and then is there any chance of some sort of intestinal parasite? Hope ti improves!

He's been on blue Buffalo for a few weeks and has been great!
I changed him off 4 strong paws cause he had the runs for over a month (tested the food twice) to make sure that's what it was.

Im starting to wonder if I'm not storing the food properly.
Move just dumped it all into a tote, not in the bag. I read online last night that the oils and such could go rancid.

Hes pretty much much done this bag, so my plan is to try and store the bag in the tote and see if that makes a difference.

Probiotics are a good thing. Why the food change (and probios)? How old is your dog? Sorry but all the stories here about Blue buffalo have me wondering why anyone would feed it.
It's not a matter of food storage I bet but have been told the bag it comes in is the best place to keep it. Personally (but I have several dogs so go thru a bag quickly) I use the 40# plastic containers.
