Just curious if anybody else has had their dog's black nose turn pink? hubby found something that said it seems to happen during their second winter (her second just passed) but will eventually darken again? just curious

Yup happened here! Kain's nose was all black and as he got older lightened up. I've read the same thing about it changing with the seasons. His never went back to true black but it did stay relatively dark.

If it's a yellow lab, yes, it happens.

Sunnie and Danny both have "snow nose". Actually, they both have "skunk nose".....a pink stripe up the middle.

Barney gets pink nose every winter, then it goes darker in summer but never goes black again

Never knew this, that nose pigmentation chances with certain yellows. Now if the yellow has a black base, does it still change? I know that with my rabbits, if there is a strong black base, that chocolate still occurs but you can see the black coming out through certain coloring of the ears. And definitely eye color.

It has nothing to due with carrying chocolate or not (what I'm assuming you're calling a black base). If the line is known for good pigment, the yellow dog may keep it's nose pigment longer than a dog without great pigment who may get snow nose it's first winter and keep it.... and everything in between.
