That happened with Emma when she got one of her shots. It's a vaccine reaction and it goes away after a few days. It's quite common. If its still there in like a 1-1.5 weeks then I'd go get it check out.
Henry had a round of shots about a week ago and I've noticed a not quite golf ball sized knot come up on his hip where the shot was given. Has anyone else had this issue? The vet did not seem to worried about it but said if I was concerned to bring him in. I'm not sure if I should be worried or not.
All thoughts are appreciated.

Sounds like a hematoma. It happens sometimes after shots.

Rather nothing to worry about - shot reaction; should disappear in a a week or so

Does happen. Just keep observing it. And like others say, if it's not gone in a week or two, I'd just call the vet. Give you some peace of mind.

Thanks everyone. It seemed to be a lot smaller last night.

Did Henry get the three year rabies shot there? Adjuvant used in the 3 year is responsible for reaction like that in so many cats that a lot of Vets will no longer give the 3 year to cats. Not trying to unduly alarm you but cancer at the injection site was noticed in cats as well. I'm not sure if the swelling or lack of necessarily corresponds to cancer. In cats.
Far fewer dogs react the same way but some do. Just to be cautious inform your Vet, write down some notes, take a photo if you can. Next time separate the rabies if that was not done and give the shot in a different place. The one year rabies is used more in cats because it does not have the adjuvant.

There are now rabies vaccines that do not use adjuvant.
