Unhappy Goldie Needs a Loving home!

Goldie needs to go to a home with lots of love. He is 1 year+ yellow lab mix. He has been outside all of his life in a pen a little too small for a lab. My neighbors, his owners, have several small children and dont really have the time to give him any special attention. They have been trying to give him away for a while but since he is not housebroken it has been very difficult. He is a calm sweet dog and would be Ideal for a farm home. He is not a climber or a jumper, but he is very depressed. I would take him but I already have a Lab Puppy who takes alot of my time and energy. please help this dog he is too sweet and lovable to spend his whole life in a pen!!!
P. S. He is located in Beloit, KS but I will help with transport as much as I can afford!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There must be a labrador rescue near you. They will take him and housebreak, etc. before adopting him out. Your neighbors should be ashamed of themselves.

Goldie

Poor Goldie is Still here. It has been cold and rainy the last couple of days and he doesnt come out of his house too much. I called that labrador rescue and it was dissolved about 2 years ago. In the mean time I have noticed somthing else that concerns me. Goldie is fed "Dollar General" Brand dog food I wish I could afford to feed him but Trinity has been streaching my budget with an unexpected eye problem. Has anyone else been following the Animal Planet show Cell Dogs I have found a program in Kansas that trains dogs For CARES a program that tranes dogs for work with disabled people. I am going to try that today.

I understand your heart about this dog. They can't give it away because it is not house trained? Hard for me to believe that is the only problem.

Have you tried to give him away for them?

Believe me, I am not trying to be mean.

I am trying

You have to understand that this dog is not well socialzed for a 3 to 4 Year old dog. I also live in a town of 4 thousand people. everybody wants a puppy or a trained hunting dog.

Well I was going by what you said in your first post. "1 year +" tells me that this dog was still a pup. This is a full grown dog in other words. Now I see where your neighbor has a huge problem. A dog that is 3 or 4 and not socialized.

Hmm maybe we can come up with a solution if we put our heads together on this board.
