Hi - I have a few ideas and my not so little pup is food motivated but I am going to start trying to do some whistle training for the "come" comand and wanted some ideas for some good HIGH incentive treats for this. He is pretty good most times with the "Diesel Come" command but I am wanting to make it very solid - No matter what is around or going on for him to come to me.

Any ideas besides chicken or cheese for good yummy treats?

My dogs love any soft, stinky dog treat-Wellness, Zukes, etc. Hots dogs and liver tend to work well too.

Maybe I will try low fat hot dogs he loves those but he doesn't get them that often - he is training and he gets Wellness and Zukes on walks or toys in his crate.

EVO lg. bites kibble is the perfect size... If you can get a small bag it is then a very affordable healthy treat...Big squares. Yet small enough to reward often.

Thanks I will see if the place has some sample bags or a small bag to buy. Sounds good and new. He loves different and new treats!!!

Natural Balance rolls cut up into small chunks -you can slice off a peice and cube it and keep the rest in the fridge to use as needed.

For something new and exciting I'll do turkey hot dogs sprinkled with garlic and microwaved until they are dried out some. Train right after the microwaving and you will have a very attentive pup because he will have smelled them cooking.

I also had someone in class give me dried beef heart that had been sprinkled with garlic before it was dried. Really, anything garlic infused tends to make mine happy.

For regular training I use Happy Homer Lamb roll. It's nice and firm and contains all natural lamb and rice. Made in Michigan though, so I don't know if you can get it everywhere.

Yep! Cut 1/4 inch slices off, and then cut them into 1/4 inch cubes. Worked great when trying to train recall with HK. And they stink enough that she knew I had them in my pocket when we left the house. It was like, "Wow! He has them today. I better be good. I love these days when I can train him to give me one of those whenever I go to him and sit in front of him!'

My dog responds very reliably to the come command and a silent whistle. I didn't use any special treats in training but I always had treats each and every time I called him.

Always have treats in your pockets or get a treat tote, I have this one from petco:
