So after we finished doing marks (we only did singles because it's early in our season) a couple of the guys and I stayed and ran blinds. We were at the grounds where we run our double header HT. There is water EVERYWHERE. I've never seen it so full. Anyhow, we found some running water (the air temps were in the 50's F.) They guys have dogs that are already running master so they set up some salty blinds. They told me I should move up, make them shorter and open the angles up some...
But I told them I wanted to run the big dog blinds. And she did a good job! They were very complimentary.
Autocasting: There were no slipped whistles or autocasts when we were doing blinds. When we did the marks, there was one very tough mark that messed with all the dogs. I went to stop her and blew the whistle out of my mouth. (Very embarrassing.) So she started hunting and frantically using her nose. So when I finally got her stopped... yes, I got two autocasts. She got corrected on both.
So, we'll see how it goes, but even with the lay-off in field work, I think we've made some progress.
