That's a great observation. I brought Rocket Dog home on the week before Christmas. She lived a pretty isolated life and never saw a bird or a duck until she went to the pro. I think little Miss Elle will get off to a great start.

Trigger thinks all dogs go to work, go to dog shows, hang out in training halls, have multiple dog classes a week....he'd be amazed that this is not what most dogs do! It sure does help make them bomb-proof when they're older to have already been exposed to all the commotion and travel and differences while they're babies.

Really got my wires crossed on this one. Breeding didn't take place till end of March so little Miss Elle wasn't on the ground until Jun27th. With the busy summer I wasn't sure I would get down to pick her out (5 hr drive.) so told the breeder to choose. As it turns out we did make the trip last Thursday. There were 3 black females in the litter to choose from. One did not pay any attention to me at all so ruled her out right away. The other 2 came to see me. I had taken M's favourite toy as a puppy with me, a rubber pig that grunts. When I showed them Grunty Pig one was shy about exploring it and didn't like the sound it made, the other was quite curious. Then got out the pigeon I had brought along. That did it. The future Miss Elle latched onto that pigeon like white on rice. I would throw it and she would get it and then try to carry it off to her lair. Easy decision. The breeders are bringing her to the trial we will be at this weekend. She will get to spend her first night in a motel and meet her new big sister.Breeder and I ere on the same page, that this was the pup for me.

M has been practicing tolerance with a friend's red bone hound puppy. Hope she is as good with her new sister. The breeders have a small garden pond with nothing growing in it, the puppies have been swimming back and forth in it with a little help at each end. The lining is black so the pics of Elle did not show to her advantage.
