    How hot is to hot?

We've gone from the 60's a couple days ago to setting records in the lower 90's today. Needless to say there has been little to no acclimatization for the humans or the dogs. I was planning to take Brooks out for some marks this evening, but every time we go outside all he wants to do is lay in the shade, so I think we will pass.

Something tells me we are going to have a miserably hot and humid summer.

I base it on the dog ... and mine are all different. Chloe and Cookie are MUCH more heat tolerant than my previous dogs. Sass is probably the least heat tolerant dog I’ve ever owned. Yeah, it is hot out there today for sure. Glad it will cool off by Saturday as I have an outdoor show. Of course, Chloe’s worked a 198.5 in 95 degree weather in the sun before ... I on the other hand, am not as good in the heat as she is, LOL.

Just depends on the dog. I found that Linus, while he was not very heat tolerant when he was younger, has gotten better about it as he's gotten older. Sam has gotten better, too, but I think much of that is his weight loss.

I remember one day late last summer, which was very hot and humid. I came in the house after cutting grass, sweat pouring off me, and I yelled. "I am so f34king tired of sweating I can't f&^king stand it".

Brooks was the same way last summer, did not like being out in the heat. He'd go from shady spot to shady spot just like today. It's funny, when he and Sophie are charging around the yard in their epic bitey face contests, she won't be breathing remotely hard, and he's tongue out panting like mad.

Best heed to the side of caution when high heat and humidity lurk. I train in the early morn or on the cusp of evening for cooler temperatures.

Land in early morning, then if possible water later.

Cookie never tolerated the heat well, and I think it got worse now that he is older. Anything above 15C is hot for him, unless there is water nearby where he can get wet. I am so thankful for that fountain!

It was still 88 when we went for our walk around the neighborhood last night at 8:15. We just got back from walking this morning at it's already 80. SUpposed to cool down this weekend, but I think we are in for a miserable summer.

Gigi did not eat dinner last night. we did our 1 mile walk and she played fetch in the heat but then spent the evening panting. slept right near the ac vent all night.
she had her morning meal and we did another short 1 mile walk.

today in the first day got to work, took my helmet off and I had sweat. We will be camping from tonight to sunday and I am sure gigi will be inside the rv . I remember last year we were doing some beach camping in Delaware indian reservation . it was 100 plus every day and we only saw gigi go out of the rv in the night to play in the ocean.

I think her fur is the issue, she is has longer fur due to the shepard side maybe not sure.
