Been on vacation, but haven't taken any time off from training.

Oh my, oh my... the Ruby Mountains of Eastern NV are hands down, the most gorgeous features in the whole world. I don't know where you live, but the Ruby Mountains are just breath taking.

Facility Details - SOUTH RUBY CAMPGROUND, NV - Recreation.gov

We are working Ram Jet Rocket Dog through Bill Hillmann's Traffic Cop. While at South Ruby Lake we were working off of a dike. The terrain around the lake is very inhospitable for field work... pretty choked with thick sage brush. So we were pretty much forced to do our training off land and into the water. We didn't do anything fancy like angled entries. The point is to SIT with distractions. That's the whole deal with Traffic Cop.

We are home now and reinforcing Traffic Cop in a park and at a city park with a pond in it. She seems pretty good. I'm posting a video of our work today at the pond. There are 3 water entries. In the second one, her front feet did a brief dance. So I made her wait a bit before sending her.

Meanwhile back to Lake Park - YouTube

Granted this is penny-ante stuff. But we're doing the tedious work of filling in holes that need to be firmed up before I can expect her to be solid and steady for big league, real retriever work.

It's going to be a slow process.

Wow, look at the difference in her! Her whole body language is much more controlled, not necessarily less excited about getting to retrieve, but more less stressed about it.
    good work!

    Thanks...

It's good to have video proof that you're making progress. (Thank you Labradorks for making me do it.)
