Yikes!!! Running our first Master tomorrow....

Well, I have no idea how it will go. I’m nervous as I can be. We’ve been training daily for 6 weeks. Gone back to basics, in terms of establishing that she and I are a team. I hope we make it past the first series. I believe we will if I don’t do something stupid.

Who knows if we can complete it and qualify. BUT... it sure would be sweet to pick up our first Master ribbon on Saint Patrick’s Day. She is TuMicks Hornpipe Brianna because I was a McCann who married a McHugh. So it was a nod to our family heritage. Bill is still listed as the owner. Were we to finish on Saint Patrick’s Day I think he might look down with a smile.

So that’s the romantic notion. Realistically I know that whatever happens, I’m going to learn some lessons. I drove in to town and had my nails done (what else do people do when they’re keyed up and anxious???) and had the index finger on my right hand painted a gorgeous green sparkly color. Maybe it’s good luck. Maybe it just points to the future and says Branna TuMicks and I will achieve our goals in due time.

Good luck and have fun! Where is the test?
Honey's sire is running today as well... got his first MH pass a couple weeks ago so fingers crossed. It's been too long of a winter here for any water work, so hopefully the water is not big. I still have plenty of snow at my house.

Oh, my. We got through the first series in fairly good shape. Triple with under the arc blind. They were pretty generous in the dogs they brought back. They started the water series at 3:00 pm with the test dog. A triple with a double blind. It takes like 15 minutes to complete each dog. And they had instituted a rotation meaning that I would end up running as the 40th dog. We watched a number of dogs run. Lots of folks handling on marks. It seemed to be a case of the early dogs getting lost, while dogs running after a slight breeze came up did much better.

So you all keep your fingers crossed. We’ll see how things go but clearly the judges can trim the numbers down substantially on this series.
