Good weekend

We ran our second trial of the season last week end. Saturday was wet and rainy and they didn't start the qual/junior until after lunch which meant they only got one junior series and the land triple and land blind done. Both the girls got carried. Sunday was a beautiful day Elle got through her second land series and M got the water blind I didn't think she had done that well. Elle then did a water double which she got through. The last series they ran qual dogs and junior dogs intertwined so people could get home if they wanted. M was a monkey on line. She just wanted to go and when she was swimming in with the bird her tail was straight up in the air like she was giving me the finger. She split the out side marks but managed to come up with both birds. It was not real pretty. Her go bird was really nice. Elle's double was the two outside birds of the qual triple. She went right to the go bird but stopped to have a good look at the gunner in the canoe. (Something new). She took a really good initial line to the memory bird but curiosity got the better of her and she faded to the canoe and then had a hunt for the bird. She did get it but not as well as she would have if she had carried her line.
Anyway they picked up all the birds and managed to each get an RCM (reserved certificate of merit)No points. I was pleased with Elle as she has only run one other trial. Her litter mates came first and second. She will catch up I hope. I am just happy that she is healthy now and can compete. We hope to finish her JH in early June and then run her las t FT as a June at our Club trial. After that qual may be a challenge for her.
