    First Hunt Test

Bacon will be competing in his first hunt test next weekend. He will be competing in the started hunter. We have been working with our Lab Club every week for the last 2 months, and our mentors there think we are ready. Anyone have any last minute tips? I will post results afterwards!

Have FUN! I don't do HRC so am not too familiar with the rules in Started. But having fun and meeting people with like minds is the main object. Enjoy yourselves!!!

Oh man how exciting! Best of luck to you guys! My pup is off to his first training day at the retriever club in two weeks. I'm so pumped to take him and watch the others work.

What venue are you competing in, and where is it located? Just curious as we are in MN too

Sounds like it is an HRC started test. You will find that the judges are very helpful and really rooting for you and you dog Just make sure that the gunner is ahead of you so there is no sound cone for you and the dog. Take your duck call and enjoy. The test will not be too hard but you may have to sit on a bucket with your dog beside you. HRC is big on that. Good luck and try to remember to breath. I love watching the started dogs and handlers. Everyone is so excited.

Haha that's why I ask, as I don't see an HRC test in the state this weekend! Or else I'd see ya there
