Ah! I should have gotten a clue with the Premium. I hope M does well for her! running a dog that you're not doing the training on has got to be much harder!
having never been to a test before, yes, more than a little nerve-wracking! i still get a bit nervous with rally, and i can't count how many times we've gone thru the gate for that! this is totally new, and really, you can explain to someone how it goes, but its not the same unless you've done it.
I sure hope that saying holds true! They keep changing the forecast for this evening -rain, no rain, showers... oh well. at least we get a chance to get the dogs back into the water, its been almost 4 weeks for Scout and most of the others.
I know, its hard to believe that its almost here already, yikes! I think most of the group will be entering both the A and B groups. With the bit of a drive, may as well, plus its entries for the Club. We'll see what they say tonight, i think 2 dogs aren't going - a young dog has been acting a bit "shy" with the gunners, which is too bad, she's doing fantastic for her age, and one of the others, a NSDT, is just "off", he's just not at all interested all of a sudden. they're concerned, not like him at all. Some with multiple dogs are driving up early on Sat, but i'm going to head up Fri with Scout's trailer, and I think at least one other is going to camp out. Sounds like a big weekend for the Chessie folks!

Got out today to do a couple of drills with M. We started with a blind/diversion drill. She wanted to run tight to the gun but was able to pick up the concept of run the blind past a gun in the field without to much difficulty. The mark then the blind was no problem but the poison bird had to be repeated. She really wanted that bird but we got her through it with attrition. The handling off the poison bird did not pose a problem either. We will run this in a different place so that the concepts develop. We then did an area of the fall drill. A couple of the dogs are so used to running long that they are having trouble checking up on short birds.. The most difficult thing about this drill as the gunner is pulling the bumper on a string in and being quick enough to get the bird out when the dog has made the decision to leave the area of the fall.
Tomorrow I want to run some channel blinds with M and Sunday will be a regular group training then back to some ABC drills next week.
