    Boomer Off to the Pro

Just dropped Boomer(6mo) off at the pro in NY last night... Girlfriend did not take it well and cried on the way home. He'll be gone for 4 weeks to be obedience trained and e-collared then back with us for 4 weeks during master nationals and back to NY again for 2mo for force fetch. I'm super excited to see how he is when he gets back, she's still upset with me tho lol I printed her favorite picture of her and him and bought a frame for it to bring back from work, maybe that'll help.

As I get pics and videos I'll post them on this thread.

There is NO way you could convince me to send my dog away for training. I enjoy the bond I have with my dogs from doing the training myself. If you work with a good trainer and have the time the rewards are incredible. I wouldn't do it any other way.

I have to go out of the country so we would be apart anyway Otherwise I wouldn't be able to sit at home and think about him being away from me everyday

I'm gone for 14 days on a hunt in wyoming then 5 days for a wedding in MA... I didn't want him regressing in his training by becoming a couch potato at my parents so that's why he's going away.

Send them both to Aunt Tammy! Maxx and I will teach them all they need to know and I have a guest bedroom for my DH so there will be plenty of room for 3 Labs on the bed with me!! Plenty of swimming and daily training at our awesome training center included. Best thing - no charge, all that Lab love is payment enough lol!! ♥♥

hahaha!! I dunno... boomer is a cuddler and a sprawler. Loves to be right beside me but stretches the whole way across the bed squishing me to one side and one time off the bed in the middle of the night lol!

That's ok, it happens here sometimes also. That is when I know it is time for me to hit the guest room or the couch, lol! I wouldn't dare disturb my babies that have "worked" so hard all day!

Dah I'm 5.5 weeks in and he doesn't come back for another 4.5 weeks. It's starting to really kick in now tho especially since my Wyoming elk hunt is over. However that was a blast! My dad and I both tagged out on a bull within 5 days, it'll be a hunt we'll remember forever.

Anywho he was supposed to come back for a month but the trainer said he needs to be FF immediately and a dog that was supposed to go to Master Nationals in his truck got hurt so there was an open pen and he wanted to take Boomer. So now Boomer is off to SC. Only 4.5 more weeks, ugh i'm going nuts and my GF wants to kill me cuz he's gone so long lol!

Wowsers! What a gorgeous trophy. And the time you were able to spend with your dad will be precious to you for the rest of your life.

Hang in there with the longing for your dog. If you have a good trainer, you'll not regret getting the basics done right. The foundation is the most important part of everything the dog will learn from now on.
