ooooh.... the terrible, nasty, horrible, no good, very bad days.... i hope she was much more "with it" the next day!
nope, not just attitude for the Beast. got an appointment with the Osteopath on Friday, she worked on him, very soon into the appointment she found the area that bothered him (right where i had felt the hot area), said something about his L5 being pulled sideways, causing the opposite side muscles to be compensating. massaged and stretch the area, had him walk around, more massage and stretching, and it was really interesting to see his muscles change-the way he was holding himself, and the way his belly was tucked a bit. Had him jump over a very low obstacle, worked a bit more on him, and sent him home with instructions on continuing massage, and a mild anti-inflamatory that evening. He actually jumped into the truck himself, something he hasn't been doing for about 3 weeks (i just thought he was either getting lazy, or was having trouble seeing the footing to do so). He has a follow-up in 10 days. He's been sort-of enjoying his evening massages. so we'll see.

Glad that he is feeling better. It is amazing what can be relieved through massage and manipulation. My old guy was really bad with a shoulder last week. I thought maybe we were facing the inevitable as he is now over 14. Gave him a good massage, some warmth and anti-inflammatory and he is as fit as a fiddle. Tonight he beat all the other dogs on their walk. May need a little attention tomorrow as I think he over did it today. Think I could use some attention too as I cleaned the freezer today. Back is barking tonight.
M had a much better day to day. Don is coming for two days this week so we will do some work with blinds associated with marks.

oooh how they over-do it when they feel much better suddenly!
he did some work this morning, but fairly short marks and on relatively level ground, but he's worn out. I think still recovering from his 4 houseguests that left yesterday.
yes, cleaned the house, vacuumed, laundry, bending, lifting yesterday after the herd left, and am feeling it today...thankfully i have an appointment the same time as Scout!
That sounds interesting- how great you can have some other folks up to train with.
we were still working on straightforward doubles training this morning (and for the 1st time actually needed the jacket and gloves). he's got the idea, and isn't arguing about going on the memory bird, but is literally spitting out the 1st bird at me in his haste to get into position to be sent for the memory bird, i'm happy that he's enthused, and happier that he knows he's got to get into position before he can go.

I don't have that much opportunity to train at this time of year. I have a friend who lives on the other side of the Sierras. Their winters are much milder and her group trains almost year round (when members are not consumed in hunting season). If possible, maybe I'll have a chance to go there to train.
