Years ago when I had Labs, the Kong was the only thing that survived them. Trouble so loved his kong. I didn't even stuff it. He hardly went anywhere without it. He greeted guests at the door with it. He waited for pets with it. He slept with it. He even went out to pee with it. He would lay it down to pee than come to the door to come in. After I opened the door he would make a mad dash back to the yard to get his kong. When I had to put him to sleep at 14, I would have buried it with him but couldn't find it that morning. I found it later under our bed. I should have known. He was too big to fit but insisted on sleeping there. It's been over four years and it still brings tears when I talk about him.
I think Kongs and Labs were made for each other. You can't have one without the other.

Porter LOVES his Kong, especially with the PB and meat in it then frozen! It's like a puppy popsicle

Well, Henry and I have been out on a rummage this morning and he now has his very own Kong.
![]() I have also learnt that, when you take a puppy shopping in a pet store, you need to allow double the time whilst people go gooey over him.

Yes a kong will save your sanity. And the dog's too! Not sure about everyone else but when I use peanut butt I smear just a little (1/2 a teaspoon) way at the far end of the kong. Mine will play with it for quite a while to try to get to the pb.

Marley loves her kong!! It's been the longest lasting toy she has
She loves it whether or not it's stuffed...I would highly recommend getting one!

I seal the end with squeeze cheeze, and just stuff the middle with her regular kibble, plus a little bit of cheese so that it freezes well. I also add a few pieces of freeze dried liver to the middle to keep things interesting. That all goes into the freezer, because otherwise Zoe would have it empty in about 5 minutes.

Another recommendation similar to Kong is the Petstages Occupi. It's very similar to the Kong, but it has a more narrow bottom (looks kinda like a ham-hock in it's shape and has small holes along the sides so it can drop small pieces of treats. I have one of each and alternate between the two.
Have fun! |
