    Henry pops his hip

So our 13+ boy Henry fall off his dog bed two days ago. My sister ran into the room when she heard the thump and heard a pain sound from Hen. Both her and her hubby rushed him to the vet where they drugged him and then had to pop back his hip in place. The next day I was watching him and he starting throwing up. We rushed him back to the vet because they wanted to see him again and decided that the drugs (from the popping the hip back) were taking longer to run out of his system because of his age. The vet gave him a shot to stop the getting sick and did some blood tests but the blood tests all came back normal. He has a sling now and we have to carry him around the house and up and down any stairs. Two days later he is looking so much better! so much more alert and happy. He doesn't understand why we yell when he walks in the room (we are supposed to be supposing him as he stands and walks) or why he try to get him to walk slower. Today I was carrying him outside and he tried to go for a walk (going to the gate) as if to say "what do you mean I hurt my hip? I want to go for a walk." Yes this one is tough and I think Labs in general are tough! Let us hope he is back to normal in two weeks!

Hopefully some rest and quiet, hard for a lab, will be the answer.

You and Janedoe, both acting the nurse, restricting the patient when they think they are better already. Poor Henry. How high is his dog bed?
